“An SDA committee, composed of faculty (selected by the Dean) and TSA student representatives, will review and select ISP grant recipients for semesterly projects. The number of grants awarded as well as priority of using an SDA theatre space are determined by the committee. Grant awards will not exceed $2,000.00 per project. Students/ISPs are encouraged to submit the most thorough proposal as possible to provide the committee with ample information for the review process. The goal is to spread support across as many student productions as possible with the resources available based on the strength and merit of the application. To be eligible to apply, the primary applicant MUST be an enrolled SDA major with junior or senior status.”

“Applications must be submitted at least six weeks before the date of the event for approved USC Vendors. We recommend submitting your application eight weeks before your event to allow time for processing, vendor requests, and expense requests. Funding applications will be open every Wednesday and close at 11:59 PM. Applications are not accepted any day besides Wednesday. Submitted inquiries will be responded to within three business days and assigned to a funding director. Applications are reviewed throughout the year until all funds are exhausted – see the link above for current available funds for Visual and Performing Arts. Apply as early as possible to avoid delays caused by school breaks and other technical issues. Each RSO may receive a maximum of $8,000 (up to $4,000 may be used for venue) from the USG Funding Department per year. USG funds may be applied towards event costs such as room reservations, catering, and equipment rental. USG will not pay for: Durable goods, Gifts, Deposits (including refundable deposits), Rideshare costs, Alcohol, Payments to non-profits, Lodging rentals, Payments via money transfer apps, and Events and programs that you are charging an entry fee or ticket price for. USG-funded events must be free to the USC student body. All RSOs with approved applications must submit the Post-Event Evaluation Form (must include pictures of the event with members in attendance) and Invoices within three business days of the final day of the event.”

Community, Accessibility, Restoration, and Ecology (CARE) Challenge

“USC Office of Inclusion and Diversity welcomes the opportunity to co-sponsor university-wide events with other units on campus. Priority is given to events with strong Diversity and Inclusion content and having these characteristics: Intersection- Demonstrate the intersection of DEI and Sustainability; Rigorous – the topics are submitted and evaluated to generate the strongest and widest possible interest; Inclusive – all of our community populations must have an opportunity to contribute to the series of events; Accessible – all of our communities (staff and faculty, as well as UPC and HSC) need to be able to access the events in some manner. Our co-sponsorship may include space (if available), modest financial support (ranging from $500 – $5000), limited publicity, or modest refreshments. Arts in Action offers three funding resources: the Annual Grants – “USC faculty and students working with community partners are invited to submit project proposals to the Arts in Action grants program annually. Through these grants, Arts in Action activates community-based projects that address social issues, bring people together, facilitate dialogue, and create spaces to imagine and design future change. Proposals open in August each year.”

The USC Arts and Climate Collective – “Are you passionate about using the arts, media and culture to address climate justice and sustainability? The USC Arts and Climate Collective is a new initiative that offers support and awards funding of $1,350 (pretax) to students who are deploying their creativity to build and imagine sustainable futures. Mobilize! Mini Grants

“Arts in Action’s Mobilize! program offers awards of up to $500 for USC students looking to channel their creativity and art into activism. Facilitate a songwriting workshop, create protest art, present a spoken-word event, or organize a community mural. Encourage health and wellness, promote housing justice, address systemic racism, or support gender equality. These outlets and ideas are only the beginning. How will you use your passion to help change the world?”
